In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and alignment of educational policies for the Master's education within the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS). Your expertise will ensure these programs meet the highest academic standards and remain innovative.

  • As a policy advisor, you will:
    Develop and implement policies to enhance the quality and impact of our educational programs.
  • Coordinate initiatives such as internationalization, alumni engagement, and strategic curriculum innovations.
  • Ensure compliance with national regulations and accreditation standards by preparing documentation and self-assessment reports.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders, fostering collaboration across UMC Utrecht, Utrecht University, and national educational bodies.
  • Support educational committees, manage communication efforts, and facilitate curriculum improvements.

You are going to work at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, part of the Education Center of UMC Utrecht. The Department of Biomedical Sciences operates as a self-organizing team with enthusiastic colleagues, fostering a results-oriented yet informal atmosphere. The working language is English. 

As a Policy Advisor, you support the Master's education within the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS). The GSLS is a collaborative initiative between the Faculties of Science, Veterinary Medicine, and Medicine (UMC Utrecht). It oversees 16 Master's programs, with six governed by the Faculty of Science and ten by UMC Utrecht. Policies and processes are developed and implemented in close collaboration across these faculties.

Dit neem je mee

  • A Master’s degree or PhD, preferably in the Life Sciences field.
  • You have good communication skills, are analytical and able to work project-based.
  • You are results-oriented. Also organization sensitivity is important so you understand people and their different functions.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Proficiency in Dutch (or a willingness to learn).

Dit bieden we jou

  • A salary between € 3.493,- and € 5.504,- gross per month (salary scale 10), based on full-time employment (36 hours). 
  • A contract for a year.
  • Year-end bonus of 8.3% and holiday allowance of 8%. 
  • Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 70% of the monthly contribution.
